Michigan Reconnect Scholarship Information Session
Ready to take the next step in your education? If you're age 25 or older, you may qualify for free tuition at Schoolcraft College through the Michigan Reconnect Scholarship, which covers most in-district tuition and fees for eligible students.

- What are the eligibility requirements for Reconnect?
- Be at least 25 years old
- Lived in Michigan for a year or more
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent, or certificate of completion
- Have not completed a college degree (associate or bachelor’s)
- Complete the FAFSA

- How much is tuition?
Tuition can vary depending on where you live. Keep in mind that the Michigan Reconnect will cover most, if not all, of your tuition at Schoolcraft College. Here is more information.
- What if I’ve been to college before?
If you haven’t earned a degree yet, you should still be eligible. If you’d like to see if you have eligible transfer credits, please have your former college send your transcript to screcord@schoolcraft.edu
- How do I maintain eligibility?
- Maintain Michigan residency
- Submit a FAFSA every year. List Schoolcraft’s school code as the first college choice: 002315
- Students must have only one eligible program of study on record
- Maintain at least a 2.0 GPA while in the program
- Starting Fall 2023, to meet continuous enrollment (CE), you must earn at least 12 credit hours with a passing grade in the academic year
- How do I submit my transcripts?

- I don’t want to go to school for 4 years, what else could I do?
We offer a variety of 1–2–year occupational training programs across many fields including health care, skilled trades, business, and culinary arts.
- I’m not sure what program to pursue. Do you have resources to help me find a program or career pathway?
Yes! We have the resources to help you get on the right track. We have all new students meet Academic Advising to help you find the right program, navigate your time in the classroom, and to plan for what comes next.

We have students from all over metro Detroit. Most students drive no more than 30 minutes to get to our campus. Sign up to visit our campus locations here.
- Do I need to complete the FAFSA?
Yes, submit your applicable year(s) Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Be sure Schoolcraft is listed as your first school. Our school code is 002315 – you can login to make a correction to your FAFSA if we are not listed first.
